FINE ARTS EDUCATION REFORM

When this project first began, I believed the music we created would allow me to make real changes in the world. Now that it's done and I’ve been able to travel and share it, I am happy to let you know that the plan is working. I'm travelling throughout the country, performing original music and reforming fine arts education in America.

I am reforming education in the arts to include knowledge, skill sets and practice that I’ve discovered are necessary to help artists sustain their lives from their art. My first step in the reform plan is to find out what’s being taught in America's classrooms. During my 2013 tour I am visiting schools and interviewing students, faculty and administrators and giving them a questionnaire. I will take the information I find to education departments at leading universities, including Berklee College of Music and Harvard University, to put together teams to sort through what I’ve found and set objectives for the 2014 plan.
